After I poured sand in my table and started it the ball starts and stops.

This is usually caused by deep spots in the sand. You may need to remove sand and/or smooth the sand field. 

Note: All Sisyphus are shipped with more sand than you need. If you poured all or nearly all of the sand into the Sisyphus, it’s likely that you may need to remove some for the ball to roll freely.

Remove the glass top, remove excess sand and smooth the sand with a Sisyphus Sand Comb or business/index card.
