The number one reason for increased noise from your table is setting the play speed to the higher end. Try turning down the speed slider on your app or web page interface. If you hear a steady crunching or rubbing sound this is the ball rolling through the sand. You can minimize it by slowing down your Sisyphus.
Sounds caused by mechanical issues
- Creaking: A sound most commonly described as a creak while the table is otherwise operation normally, is caused by a lack of or loss of lubrication. To resolve a creak, see this article
Screech: A sound most commonly described as a screech or scratch while the table is otherwise operating normally is caused by misaligned mounting bushings. To resolve a screech, see this article
- Squeak: This can be caused by the magnet vibrating against the underside of the table like a violin. This is known as stiction. To avoid this, we install soft plastic pads on the ball magnets on our tables. These may wear through. The amount of time it takes depends on how much your table is used and how fast it is running. We have replacement pads available in our parts store. In some cases, the adhesive from the pads may leave a residue under the table. We recommend cleaning this with goo-gone or another solvent.
- Clicking: See the following article to troubleshoot a clicking sound coming from your table: My table is clicking or not drawing the paths correct
