Start by opening the Sisyphus app on your smartphone and connecting to your Table or Mini. Next, navigate to the "Library" tab. Click on the "Draw" button.
Basic Drawing
The large circle is your drawing area, it represents looking at the sand field from above. The small blue circle inside it is the current ball position. If you touch and drag anywhere within the white circle, the blue circle will draw a line from its current position matching your finger or mouse movements.
After you move the blue circle, you may see the red square and green circle. The green circle is the start point of the drawing. The red square is the end point of the drawing. Drawings on Sisyphus must end either at the center or the outside edge. "Rho Start" and "Rho End" options allow you to toggle the start and end points of your drawing. "Rho Start" may only be changed before drawing your first line. You can not edit the "Rho Start" once you begin drawing.
In the upper right of the black header, you can see the Undo and Redo buttons (circular arrows) appear after you start drawing.
Multiply
Multiply allows us to take our drawing lines and repeat them around the sand field. Setting the value to "1" makes just one single line.
Setting Multiply to "2" makes a rotated copy of your line 180 degrees around the center.
Setting Multiply to "3" adds two copies of the line, rotated equally around the center like the next image.
One more example, here is how it looks with a Multiply of "37". You can create many interesting patterns using the Multiply value.
Mirror
The Mirror option will toggle through the following values: Off, Vertical, Horizontal, Both. All of the previous images show the Mirror option "Off". Vertical Mirroring looks like this:
The thin grey line shows the division of the vertical flip. The drawn lines above are repeated below the mirror line, and the drawn lines below are repeated above the mirror line. If your drawn line is not ending on the mirror line, a straight line connects to the mirrored line. The blue circle still shows you where your drawing will continue from.
Horizontal Mirroring repeats the drawn line from the left to right, showing the difference with the thin grey mirror line. The "Both" Mirror option repeats the line vertically and horizontally, like this:
Combining Multiply and Mirror options can create a number of unique and interesting patterns from simple line drawings. Here are the different results for the same line repeated 37 times and mirrored differently.
Smoothing
Smoothing adjusts the rounding of points in your line. If the slider is all the way to the left, you will see straight lines drawn from point to point, and looks more jagged. Generally, the center of the slider looks best.
Save/Preview
When you are happy with your drawing and want to save it to your table, scroll down the page, and choose the "Save" button. "Clear" will erase all drawn lines. If you clear the drawing, all undo states are lost.
The Preview page will show a fully rendered preview of the drawing. Give the track a Name, enter your name as the author, and choose "Save" again to add it to the Tracks in your Library.
If you want to make changes, touch on the back arrow in the upper-left. If you want to start over from a blank drawing, choose "Reject".
